Hey guys... can I run my wastegate down by the o2 housing eventhough its being connected up on the exhaust manifold?

Thanks

I can't make put that picture to save my life.... but yes. Alot of us run them ON the o2 housing, myself included. If your worried about it being able to release enough exhaust gas I would say it shouldn't be a problem.

I would say you could but that's that much more space to fill with exhaust, may add some lag.

Lol sorry my phone oriented the pic wrong.... I called up a buddy and he said that instead of running two slim fans, to run one stock on the passenger side and use a slim fan as a pusher on the driver said. By doing this I can put the wg in front of the manifold so that pipe wouldn't be as long...hence less lag.

Any thoughts?

This is a better idea then the first. Actually right off the manifold is the proper way. As for the fan setup i second the stock passenger side fan. Its up to you on installing the pusher fan. I will only be using one stock fan for my similar setup.

Great! Thanks.

Yea the manifold had a vband flange welded on already but my wg is 38mm and the flange on the manifold is 50mm. That's why I have to use a transition/reducer pipe.

Didn't know there was a 'proper' way to mount a wastegate. As long as it does its job I would say thats proper enough. Wouldn't you? I like the o2 mounted way better. Looks cleaner while still serving its purpose and is much easier to recirculate or dump. Whichever you choose.

You need to re-read the first sentence in post one.... He wanted to add a pipe off the runner and hook the WG down by the o2. I was saying that the proper way to run it off the manifold is to have the gate right on the runner. He never mentioned running the WG off the o2... Whether he wants to recirculate thats up to the OP.

Instead of removing that fan, just put it in front of the radiator and make it a pusher. That way you have some extra room for the wastegate, and still have two fans.
