Ottawa,
Hey all, haven't posted a topic in a while.. so i got some questions for you all which i hope i can get some good advice.

I want to lower my 2g..but i do not know what i need, "lowering springs" or "coil overs"?.. what's the difference? what's a good height that i wont hit driveway curbs? professional installation required?
I'm not savvy suspension wise. If i can get some/good knowledgeable advice i would much appreciate that, and so far this site has been excellent with community involvement! :thumb:
Thanks guys, cheers.

OP, I honestly couldn't tell ya. I'm gonna be running into the same problem myself soon. haha
asrdave, he talks about not wanting to hit driveway curbs, so im guessing hes wanting at least partial leisure. doesn't seem like hes making it an all out race car. haha

I would get Eibach Sportline 1.6" drop springs. Any lower than that and you'll be sorry.

Coil overs are adjustable. They have a threaded collar and 2 large nuts that can move up and down Using a spanner wrench to turn the nuts up and down to adjust ride hieght.

Dont get coilovers. That offbrand crap will have you bouncing all over the place. If you want adjustability either get Ground Control slip on coilovers, or full coilover/strut assemblies such as Tein

Professional installation isn't required, you just need a few tools and a place to work on it at. I believe an alignment is also recommended after you lower it.

Make sure you search depending on how low you want to go. Many different simple camber solutions for the rear such as adding washers from the hardware store to correct the negative camber. The front something like and ingalls adjuster will need to be in if you go below 2" or so. Some people get away with not doing much in the front but that is your call. As always after lowering the vehicle get an alignment. I personally have Eibach sportlines with tokico illuminas on my 2g and its as low as I would go.

If you are going to get coilovers, you are looking to spend a minimum of 850-900 for a new setup. I just recently purchased the megan racing coilovers, and am impressed thus far.

If you are going to get lowering springs, don't cheap out once again with ebay stuff. Go with a name brand like eibach, H&R, tein or such. Plan on buying shocks as well, because your stock shocks aren't going to last long lowered.

Start browsing through the suspension forum. There are plenty of threads on this already.

Awesome guys, thanks for all ## considerations and help! Sorry to reply late, but as a matter of fact i was at the shop with my car getting some opinions from the Mitsubishi dealership mechanics. So thanks all!
Truely appreciate it.
