want to do a talon to eclipse conversion

Haha everytime i tell someone i drive an eagle they look at me and say "ohh" like they feel bad for me.. I love driving an eagle

younger people and some oblivious girls i know wonder why i have "talon" on the back of my tail lights and on my windshield.. i think they think its some nick name for my car but no, its the actual name of my car like eclipse, celica, or mustang..

IMO, thats one of the great things about owning a talon..
as soon as i say "its the same exact same thing as an eclipse" i get thee "oOohh.. cool"

and bulletshift, i dont think its cheaper to buy a whole new car if hes just doing the conversion you can find bumpers, skirts, and lights pretty cheap at junkyards if he/she wants to

I'm not jumping on the band wagon. If anyone wants to donate a new Talon front bumper I'd put it on. My Talon bumper was trashed and I had an Eclipse one laying around so I swapped them out.

Well not to be too far off topic, to each his/her own. I know you've heard it before. I myself own a 96 Esi(with a tsi rear bumper?) and the only thing I dont like about it is the wing. I've owned a 95 gs and also liked the style.
Stay with what it has, why would you want to be like everyone else? How many talons are you seeing where you live? Here in Minneapolis area not to many. So this topic is iron clad for me NOT to switch anything. Thanks.

If none of you noticed, he's from toronto canada. Up here you can find Talon TSI's just about anywhere. But there isn't the abundance of mitsu's like there is south of the border. So to me the conversion makes perfect sense.

The 2ga talons are boring as shit. Not to mention 90% of them were purchased by little old ladys. The 2gbs IMO werent much better. And YES the title will always say eagle but honestly when Im done with my car I dont think the person buying it *(if I ever sell it) will care. Its going to be modified and its not like some old man is gonna buy it for a DD.

Whaa? Did you just put down the 2ga talons? To each each his own, and all that crap. But really? I think they look so exotic compared to other cars out there. The thumb-nail spoiler with the side skirts just add to the whole sleek look.

Right on tho, you like what you like ya know. I an just surprised you (or anyone) hates the 2ga talon. Im a big fan of keeping the car you bought.

IF my car was intact and in good shape when bought like yours I wouldve kept it. However it was missing the passenger side molding and its impossible to find the turbo pieces. I bought a full side set and my girl caught the lower half with her heel and apparently it was brittle needless to say it cracked all the way through and I tossed it. I got tired of trying to find talon parts as they are hard to find.

I have a few eclipse parts cars close by and certifit sells the 2gb front for $50 so I couldnt pass it up. I ran across the turbo wing for $50 as well so all in all I can have it lookn good and ready for paint soon.

I think I grew partial to my white GS when I owned it before the turbo car thats the look i wanted with the performance of the awd. IF I could find another eagle Id buy it. For some reason the eclipse just has a meaner look to it once completed. The Eagles have a high stance in the rear and look awkward lowered. If the rear was designd differently id like it better I think.

It really just depends on how I find the car before I flip it. Never really been a fan of the Talon though too many ESI running around here

I would never convert my talon to an eclipse i just dont understand people who do There are many many eclipses on the road here and way too many Honduhs i NEVER see talons 2ga or 2gb.
I love the way she looks wouldnt change a thing except maybe get the tsi sideskirts and some tsi leather seats but thats it.

whether its a 1g or a 2g the talons are so much sexier. plus they are different. im my town im 1 or 3 1g talons and in this same town i have only seen 1 2g talon. :O im so jealous of them. if i bought a 2g eclipse i would convert it to a talon i don't wanna be another eclipse drone there is a crap load in my town. half of them are ricer dsm wanna bees! i don't want to be associated with that

I don't see what part of the big WWF buckle logo on the Talon 2Gb front bumper is sexy. I also don't understand why people like the 2Gb Eclipse rear bumper when it looks like a butt crack... or the 2Gb Eclipse spoiler that looks like a basket handle.

Anyways, back to the post:
- 2Ga Eclipse front bumper will fit a 2Ga or 2Gb Talon
- 2Gb Eclipse front bumper will fit a 2Ga or 2Gb Talon with 2Gb eclipse headlights
- 2Ga or 2Gb Eclipse rear bumper will fit a 2Ga or 2Gb Talon with Talon tail lights, center light and some metal strips or re-welded reinforcement strips.

Up here in canada there are alot more Talons then eclipse's. I had a 2gb Talon, i was going to do the eclipse conversion I bought the front and rear bumpers. I then decided against it, I sold the talon due to rust problems and i bought an eclipse. That talon is still on the road, and I now have an eclipse

That is a picture with a a 2ga rear, the "ass crack" (if that is how you see it) is a 2gb rear.

so what brackets from the rear do u have to reweld in order to fit a 98 eclipse bumper on a 95 eclipse
