I searched for this and couldnt find any matches i put a new head on my 95 non turbo talon not knowing that the vss(valve stem seals) were bad and i didnt want to buy a new head gasket and head bolts i bought the seals and i was woundering if anyone knows if you can change them without taking the head off it would be greatly appriciated my buddy thats helping me said he has done it on his vr4 but he didnt know if we could do it on my car thanks :talon:

How did you find out your valve seals were bad? What were some of the symptoms if you don't mind me asking...

my buddy who is a mechanic told me he was sure it was (or had alot to do with my valve seals) because after i let it sit and idle for 10 mins or more when i take off it smokes really bad and it was a used head so pretty much im just trusting him

EDIT: I'm a dullard. My bad.

However, VSS typically refers to Vehicle Speed Sensor.
