VR4 block?

I bought a 94 TSI from a friend. It has a 91 block and tranny but she told me that it has a VR4 block with a 1G head. Is that good/bad or are the blocks the same between the galant and the 1G??

90- early 92 is the same as galant vr4 91-92.

So yes, you have a 6 bolt, and its not any better, its the same exact block.

A vr4 block would be the same thing as the engine that came in the car.

6 bolt just has a stronger crank and is less prone to crankwalk. Every thing else is the same compression wise.

Same motor... 6bolts over 7bolts.. But still a dsm 4g63t..

UMM 1GS have 8.5 compression pistons. 2gs have 8.7 or 9.0. Check it out

1g is 7.8, 2g is 8.5 for turbo motors. 1g NT is 9.0
