ok the car is a 98 eclipse gst. motor has wiseco pistons scat rods 550 injectors s-afc upgraded turbo. the car starts and runs fine. when it warms up i get a rod nock sound.. sounds like the rod next to the trans. i dropped the pan pulled all the rod caps. bearings were good. i replaced them anyway.. same thing. when it warms up i get the noise.. heres the weirdest part. the noise does it in park, reverse and all the drive gears.. BUT not in neutral.. could it be a trans problem. that would be my guess at this point but car drives fine and why does it do it in park too... ANY HELP would be appreciated... btw there is no crankwalk.. i already checked that  :dsm:

anyone.. please don't tell me i'm the first with this problem....ok u know what anyone with 6500 can have the car,, i'm going back to hondas.. not as fast as easily but damn..they don't break all the time..seriously car is for sale.. would still like to fix it but as of now 6500 takes it.. only 80k on it and trans was replaced by mits. at 35k thanx to dumb ex girl... any takers? on it or the solution to my problem? :dsm: :barf:

OMG C'mon man don't quit on us now. Your saying rod knock sound. But could it be in the cylinder head? Check valves/springs.

the head is 100 percent.. and beside a cam being loose nothing else in the head would sound that loud..piston pin would sound like it was from the head area.. but its quiet as can be on the top end.. just by the number 1 piston (trannyside) at the oi pan..i am not giving up.. i will find the fix..i am a mechanic.. i don't normally do dsm's so i figured if someone was familar with it maybe its common.. guess not..still selling it though after i fix it.. too much time and money for the return investment.. honda is soooo much cheaper and reliable..

sorry i should have stated before.. balance shaft has been removed... i thought the converter too.. except why does it do it in park too? no load in park or neutral.. yet no noise in neutral..but niose in park..this car makes me sick :barf:

I am having the same exact problem you are except I havent tried to rev it in othere gears besides park to afraid I will blow somthing up. all my bearings were fine to. I thinking about pulling the motor tomorrow and seeing whats up.. let me know if you figure it out I think the only difference is I swaped a six bolt in.

thanks
