Valve noise, maybe lifter collapsed?

So I realize that there isn't a motor section here, but...

So after my rebuild I'm about 2500 miles on the motor with an oil change and a compression test. My number scame back with 165,165, 175,175. This was with the throttle closed and the engine wasn't really warm, but more like 100deg warm. I'm running ported head with je's 8.8:1 20 over pistons and je rings. The compression numbers seema alright to me.

My vacuum is sitting at about 15-16.5 at idle on a warm motor. Doesn't hesitate, did the ol leak tester and even blew smoke from a black and mild into the line to see where it comes out. It was coming out of my pcv breather filter on my valve cover.

I'm getting a quiet ticking around my #1 and maybe #2 valvtrain on the intake side. These are the two cylinders also with the lwoer compression numbers. I don't have the means right now for a leak down test.

The last thing is that I realized yesterday after doing some more reading that when I was reassembling my head I didn't compress the lash adjusters to drain the oil out of them.

So here's what I'm thinking, tell me if you guys agree...
One or more of the adjusters ont eh intake side is not adjusted correctly and is sitting too high in it's seat or too low causeing the valve to not fully close ont he intake side by those two cylinders causeing vacuum to leak out into my valve cover and out the pcv breather line. I know it is supposed to vent off some, but all ofd the smoke was coming out of the breather when I blew it in.

So I need to replace all of the adjusters and might as well do the rockers with pt ones from howell, or whomever.

Anyone agree?
If so, this sucks cause messing with timing on a otor already in is going to be a bi***!

Thanks-

So remove the lifters and bleed them down . I am not sure about your car , but on my 90 Talon I did not touch anything timing to change/remove the lifters .

yeah you have to remove the cams to get them out.
