V8 vs 4cyl Race

Heres the deal.. My buddy was telling me about a race that there were going to be participating in and i was wondering how far $2800 will go in a DSM. Its going to be a 1/4 mile race.

The rules are:
Only allowed to spend $2800 to build a car.
Pretty much anything else is allowed..( to my knowledge )

It sounds like its going to be two Chevy teams and two Ford teams. My buddy and his stepdad think that they're going to put a 460 in a foxbody, but thats all i know.

lots of weight reduction, coilovers to stiffen up the back and drop the front and toss on some slicks.
