Number one, carbon hoods are made of carbon fiber which is neither metal or fiberglass, its lighter than both and its stronger than fiberglass. I think the underside frame is just like on the oem hoods, if your getting an oem carbon hood,i dont know about the custom ones, but im sure they have metal frames on them too for support.

Number two, if its custom colors your looking for try going to a House of Kolor paint destributer if you want pre-made colors, or someplace like that. If you want your own brew when you go to get it painted you can ask the painter to pre-mix your color because you want a cutsom color, not just colors but whatever assortment of pearls and mettalic flakes they have availible to put in the paint, if you do it this way your color will be exclusively to your car, no other car in the world will have the exact color because since its custom it cant be color matched. Here we run into problems though, if you get in an accident. If you take the second route, remember to get a small bottle of the paint for touch up spots, so you can have it closely color mtached so you can match a big problem like whole body panels too. I know this because my dads an auto painter as a side job for Jaguar and GM/ Chevy dealers.

Hope i helped alittle, Seth.

ok as long as the hoods arn't fiberglass then i will be ok with it and for the paint i dont plan to have a brew color i would just like to see a list and all colors that i can just pick from

As far as other urethane kits, I know Stillen makes one. And secondly, most cf hoods out there are not 100% carbon fiber. Most are just fiberglass with carbon fiber layered on top of it.

As for hoods its VIS, Seibon, Carbon Trix and some other brands are the "GradeA" ones, but you will pay for them I have an OEM Cf hood just an off brand here and its nothing close to the VIS GT carbon fiber hood sitting in my room.

The Stillen is just a front bumper and its about 450-600 anywere you look. fortunately I found a local guy selling a new one for 300 bucks so I just had to take it. check ebay or the classifides....they pop up here and there but it IS worth it. Check out the threads about them.
