I have a 1998 Talon with a tien basic coilover set and 17" rims. Right now I am running 13.5" from the center of the wheel to the fender lip. I have more adjustment in my suspension and would like it to run closer to 12". Last time I dropped it all the way down it took about 2.5 weeks to take my tires down to the wires on the inside. I purchased new tires raised it back up and am not currently having a problem. I bought an Engalls camber kit so that I could adjust them all the way down. After installing the driver’s side I noticed that the control arm hits the strut tower. This car is not my daily driver so drivability is not really an issue. What do I have to do so that it will ride lower like I want it? Will adjustable balljoints allow me to do this? Also what is with this kit I found on ebay? I don’t know how much I would trust a $35 camber kit.

I had a similar problem after I lowered my 2g about an inch or so.
Using the adjustable Ingalls camber kit I was able to move the upper control arms "out" to get the camber back to zero. The new problem was that the upper controll arms would then hit the ouside of the upper "tower" (if we can call it that) in bump.

The solution is to recognize that some negative camber is fine. I now have the other Ingalls camber kit (the one that adjusts from about neg 3/4 to positive 1 degree) with some negative camber and all is good.

Be sure to get an alignment too.

The SPC is a really nice setup for your camber up front. Roadrace has them here:

I think SPC make a nice rear setup ae well.

If your using coilovers and your raising and lowering your car all the time the SPC Performance Pro Series FasTrax Adjustable Caster Camber Gauge Kits would be a good investment.

When you lower your car yor toe goes out of check along with your camber.
Toe is what really eats the tires off your car more so than camber. If you lowered your car and did not have an alignment done immdeiantly. I'm sure you ate the tires off the car.

I have the Specialty Products Co. (SPC) aluminum upper control arms from RRE. They were an excellent investment in conjunction with my coilovers. I replaced the upper control arms with these mainly because my factory upper ball joint was dead, and I wanted to have additional camber/caster adjustment for alignment purposes.

These pieces were a snap to install, and after a quick alignment, I have had no issues with them in more than 6 months of use on the street and the track.
