I have a 1996 GST Spyder with an injen intake, 10.2 spark plug wires, and that's about it right now for performance. I bought a Turbo RFL BOV and a 3" GMAF and am waiting til next paycheck to buy from Dejon Tool a 2 1/2" BLOW THRU Upper Intercooler Pipe, GM MAF Translator for 2G Talon/Eclipse, and a "2gQ No MAS, VPC or "Blow Thru" Curved Intake Pipe" (since I have to replace the Injen to make this all work properly). The reason that I am getting all of this, alone from being that my stock parts are plastic :thumbdown , I want to blow off into the atmosphere.
My questions are is this the right steps to be taken, am a missing anything or does this sound good? After this the next step is replacing the stock IC with a FMIC from Dejon Tool. I want this to be right the first time so I do not have to buy more of the same parts next time. I would rather spend the more money to have the best rather than flake out and buy crap. :thumbdown.
Anyways, I am trying to get my HP up to or around 400HP, so these steps should get me closer to that goal.
Also, how easy is it to install the above mentioned parts yourself or with a friend. I have some knowledge in the engine bay but also do not what to go down the street and my car falls apart. Please let me know. Thanks, also any help, advice or comments on other performance add ons would be awesome. :thumb:

What you are doing sounds fine, I would change some of what you are planning on doing.

Upper intercooler piping and a BOV are a must for the 2nd gen.

I would not purchase a FMIC next but instead get a boost controller, boost gauge, and a full exhaust. There is absolutely no need for a FMIC on the stock turbo, and there is no reason to upgrade the turbo until you get a free flowing exhaust and some fuel mods.

So the first sets, the IC piping, RFL BOV, GMAF, and MAS translator are good, right? Those should be easy to install by myself, or should I get a shop to put them in?

For the boost controller, Dejon tool has several and I was thinking about getting the Dual BC but which one, the Lo-Hi (if other people drive my car ever) or the Med-Hi? Which one would work if people changing my oil or Dealership people were to drive my car? Also should that be installed by a shop, i don't want to f**k my car up, ya know.

Thanks for the advice about the FMIC, saves time and money on the stock turbo. Also i have also purchased a Boost guage as well as an oil pressure and oil temp guage for the triple guage pod i bought from Leo at Carbonwerks.

One other thing, for the exhaust I do not want to make my car sound like those friggin hoindas with a high pitched exhaust that sounds woosy. I was looking into the Apexi N1 Exhaust, does that have a deep end sound or high end coffee can sound?

It is not possible for you to sound like a honda. You have a turbocharged engine, they do not.
The apex n1 sounds fine to me and I have to listen to it every day.

*Edit

Yes, the first things you listed are fine. Yes you should be able to install them yourself but I don't know you or how well you work with tools or if you have any experience with cars.
I almost always have a friend or two help me on installs if I have no experience with whatever particular item is being installed. I have learned a lot about cars since I purchased mine, and have not wasted a single dollar letting a shop do things I can now do myself.

Thanks man. I was wondering...I have heard a lot of WRX's and EVO's with custom exhaust that sounds very deep, and it looks like the N1 exhaust. I just want to be sure before I shell out the money for the N1 ya know. :thumb:
