Removed Crankshaft, Pistons, Balance shafts. Preparing block to be cleaned by a machine shop. Block with sustain its stock bored upon return.

:rocks:

I am very flattered and thank you!

Quick question, can I still use my stock pistons after my block has been bored .020?

no you cannot, you need new rings and pistions and probably wrist pins

Got it! But Is it wise to just get the block hot tanked and cleaned without getting a bore? Would you recommend that method? My plan was to actually buy a complete 7bolt rebuild kit whick comes with new rings, gaskets from top to bottom, and etc... Let me know DSM Gurus on which path to take? Money is no object but my goal is to build a better and reliable motor with 300-400hp.

Thanks all!

Tristan

Then what you need to do is, bore the block .020 over and get new .020 over pistons and rings. But get the pistons first and have the machine shop match the block to the pistons. Then make sure you have a good OEM Oil pump, and a good headgasket with ARP head studs. As far as bearings, you can use either clevite or ACL. Either are a great bearing for our motors. Hope that helps

Yes, it does help. Much appreciated!
