Turning the Key off and On a few times??

I read in some topic that I can not find now where somone told this
guy that was having starting problems to try this and that would tell him somehting, but I dont remember what and I cant find the thread now.
So does anyone know what this means?
I been having some issues with cold starts, and this morning I tried it and I thought it helped. I'm going to try again tomorrow to be sure. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

what car do you have? it only works on NTs.. not the turbos, 95-97 I believe, you turn the key on-off-on-off-on when you have a check engine light, the light will blink a certain amount of times indicating the engine code number.

I have a 1997 2.0 non turbo eclipse
It wasnt a check engine trick the person was talking about.
It was a way to get the car to start up right away if you were having cold start issues.
Trying to find out if this trick works what it means.
I lso noticed todaywhen I take off my gas cap there is no sound of pressure relase.
I bought a new gas cap for it during my lunch break. Checked the car when I got home still no sound. Not sure if that means anything or if its just how these cars are

Search "keydance". It will give you the stored error codes in the ECU. It won't make your car magically better.
