hey guys, im a newbie here so im sry if i offened anyone with this post..but here is whats up

my mechanic is going to sell me a 95 eclipse gs for 400 bucks...needs a new head, and water pump...he said i can get it completely running for under 2k

well as i was telling my friend about this he said i could have his stock tdo5h 14b off his 1st gen for free..im like hells yeah bout this..he also said that if i decide to put it on i need to get 450c injecters..full piggyback, exhaust manifold..fmic, bov..something called an afc..he said i should get the apexi s afc..

now my question is is there anything else I would need that im missing.. and will this turbo work on my car

like i said before, im sry if i broke any rules..that really wasn't my intent, btw my name is jack, im from pittsburgh pa..holla to my friends in the 412..j/k..thanks everyone for any contrabution you put into this post

The 14b of your friends eclipse wont line up to your manifold and his manifold wont line up to your head. I got a hahns super 16g with 5k on it for 300 bucks you will then need a fpr, fuel pressure guage, boost guage, plumbing lines, t connector, exhaust manifold with a 4 bolt flange, and if your wanting to run a lot of boost a intercooler. I also have a head for that car if you want it. I almost forgot you need some vaccum line splitter ands vaccum line along with you bov.

thanks so much for the imformation..jus a couple of questions..im new to dsm..and i was wondering if you could recomened a good 4 bolt flange what would work with my head..and also what is an fpr, and a t connector..also i already have a head that im jus gonna get ported, cause u still need some turbulance for the air entering the intake manifold, but if that turbo wont bolt up then i'll prob buy that turbo off you jayden1..thanks again...jack

Well i got mine from hahns race craft but they are kinda salty im sure you could get one off of ebay. Put a search in ebay for 420a and im sure a turbo manifold will come up and then youll see the fourbolt flange manifold you need. FPR stands for fuel pressure regulator. A t connector is so you can splice three vacuum lines together. Just look on ebay for the 420a engine some 4 bolt flange manifolds wont work just look for one that will bolt up to a super 16g turbo. Heres something similar but you need one with out that waste gate flange. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...tem=7949546944&category=33742&sspagename=WD1V
hope that helps.

hey thanks alot jayden, but i think im gonna pass on the forced induction idea..im gonna go more to internals now, but im still having difficulty find parts....im looking for some camshafts, a new intake throttle body, or even individual throttle body, and valves/springs, pistons..etc..if you have info on them, i would love it, thanks again

Dyno flo from ebay sales good pistons i got mine from them. Howell automotive could help with everything else. There really arent a lot of manifold solutions for our cars except for porting the stock one and buying an obx I wouldnt by an obx.

actually the 14b will line up to his manifold :) just learned it today because i started an identical thread on 2gnt yesterday... actually i take that back, i wasnt really asking anything LOL i knew pretty much what i needed, i just stated what i was doing LOL. but the 14b will fit up against the stock manifold flange, although it will only be held on by 2 bolts, the bolt holes will line up. but you will have trouble getting the down pipe around the AC.

now with that said, i might suggest you go forced induction. all the things your mentioning on doing will cost the same as a turbo kit and a lot more then a nitrous kit, and you wont get nearly the same power. but im pieceing together my own turbo kit, and although ive said it before(like a lot of things LOL) I WILL DO IT!!! :D i even got my dads ok. im gonna be making my own custom exhaust manifold, and if it goes well ill be making one for Mike(miamieclipse). and if that goes well i might go into the manifold buisness for a little bit.

well good luck on whatever you decide :thumb:

thanks for the info GSgoingFAST, but idk if going forced induction would be the best for my car right now, jus because it's old and a n/a to begin with. I'd have to mess arounf wiht compression and run 93 octane...yadda yadda yadda. I also dont think it would be safe for the turbo to be mount with only 2 bolts..idk it jus doesn't seem right to me, but i figured once i knew my engine could handle forced induction, then I'd do it..once again thanks again for your advice

well you dont really have to mess with compression if you are only gonna be boosting 7psi or so. really to check if you engine is in good shape or not, all you gotta do is a compression test. i did one after abusing it with a couple bottles of the funny gas and i still had 200-210-200-200 so my engine is running great. how many miles are on yours?

just over 100k..maybe like 102, I dont really recall to tell you the truth

thats pretty good for a 95, i already have almost 80k on my 99. just do a compression test, and if the numbers are good id re-think the forced induction thing, because if its done right it can be powerful and reliable.

now asuming that i do use this 14b turbo, how much do you think it would cost me to turbo my eclipse cause, with the internals I priced everything at around 1500-1600 all said and down...do you think I can turbo my car for around the same price..thanks

it really all depends on what kind of deals you can find. im not gonna rebuild internals when i do mine, and im hoping to get it done for less then $800. you dont have to do new internals right away. you can hold off as long as you keep the boost low.

well i was justing concerned with like gettin a manifold, waste gauge, downpipe, turbo timer, boost gauge, bov, and fmic..then i need all the oil lines, bigger injectors, piggy back system...all that..and im not sure if thats gonna be more expensive then doing my internals...like if your turboing your car for 800 bucks, then hell im deff gonna do it, but i just dont see it costing me less then 1500 dollars...please correct me if im wrong, cause i'd much rather do a turbo then internals...thanks again

-Jack

also i was just thinking if the 420a engine is the same engine thats in the neons...couldn't i get a turbo kit that was fabricated for a neon..any thoughts on this, or am i completely off????

-Jack

they won't work on NT eclipse/talons due to the head on the neons being reversed (intake manifold up front and exhaust towards the cabin)

it all depends on what stuff you buy. im making my own custom exhaust manifold, my own piping, getting a smic for free, picking up a 14b and 1g bov for cheap, already have an afc, gonna run stock injectors, gonna get a new fuel pump and vortec fmu, and make an oil feed line out of brake line(thought i read you can do this somewhere but i need to check) then buy some vaccum line and i should be set... oh yea a missing link too. ehh im sure theres more but i cant think of it right now
