Okay I have a 4g64 that came with my 2g Stratus, I plan on putting on the 4g63 head which if youre helping me you should know its dohc and that 4g64 head is sohc unless you have 4g64K but I want to use the 4g63 head with my 4g64 block and then turbo it. I was going to buy a kit but it was made for sohc, do I have to get a 4g63 turbo kit or what?

The exhaust manifold will need to be for a 4g63 since thats what it bolts to. Not sure what else is in you kit that may be engine specific.

You'd find much better help on the 3g forums. You'll need plenty of items off of an Evo 8/9. Keep in mind an Evo 9 head would be relatively hard to adapt due to MIVEC. Very little work with 2000+ 4Gxx variants is done on these boards.

Also, as far as I understand, there are no "turbo kits" produced for 4G64 engines. EBay kits are generally universal and overall junk.

they make 4g64 turbo kits I found one but it was for sohc

What particular kit are you referring to? I have an Evo swapped turbo 3rd gen. There is no plug and play kit as of a few years ago. If the kit is $1000, it's full of eBay junk. There were very few "kits" ever produced most of which died out prior to 2008.

Oh okay yeah it was $1700 and my Stratus is an '04. but does the head change anything so that I would have to get a different kit and would it be better to get people I know to manufacture the parts for my own kit and just buy a decent turbo?

Use your bottom end and grab yourself an Evo head. There's a slight issue with timing belt installation but you'll have to dig up a post on that over on the other forum. A manifold spacer is going to be needed to avoid issues with the transmission fitment when using an evo based manifold. Use one of the evo 8/9 twin scroll 16gs with a mating manifold for a great street setup. 90% of the build can be done with OEM components. Intercooler and pipes are really all that's custom to be honest. Evo 8 ECU requires just a few pin-swaps and plugs right into your harness.

Seriously, head over to Club3g. They have an entire section of custom forced induction builds. You'll get all the help you need over there bud.
