1G turbocharging my 1.8 SOHC

i was just wondering if i would dammage my 1.8 engine with a 14b turbo as a temp mod untill i complete the rebuilding process of my 2.0, leafve me some advise i really need outside opion.

yea im just having a little bit of trouble right now coming up with the cash i need 2 finish my little project right now with crunch time from school and track.

i just wouldnt bother messing with the 1.8, unless its a swap.

thats what i was thinking but its just laggin really bad and i have a 92 turbo b4 this one but my "good friend" ran it into my gruage and totaled it, so then i got this and im just looking for some easy bolt on power and thats the first thing that came 2 mind

One of the members of 'tuners has a turbo'd 1.8. He loves it. Check VFAQ.com or use the search for more info.

I was curious what your future plans are with the car... If I was looking down the barrel of a 1.8 turbo or a 4G63T swap into your car, the 1.8 would seem pretty attractive. Atleast as a semi permanent set up.

I personally wouldn't bother doing it. How much horsepower does a SOHC 1.8 come with anyway around 95 or so? Seems to me that if you want to push real power it would be a lot easier to just buy another car. Because after you spend all this money to turbo it, you are going to find that your car will drive just like a stock gs-t. Just trying to steer you in the right direction. Good luck

The guy with the turbo 1.8 is a member of our local club. If your not VERY mechanically inclined and have deep pockets, forget about it. It was a wild 2yr+ project and his car is now running fine. Its not a hack job btw, and the motor internals aint stock.

what kind of internal work would i need 2 do, mechanically i can do just about n e thing on that car( i have some experience from my old one) if the member of your club that did it could contact me, give me a list of what he did that would be great

Sorry, its not my business to disclose that info. He spent alot of time and money to research and experiment. Most of what he did is outlined in the vfaq he made.
