Turbo Tranny in N/A?

I have a 93 GS w/ a bad tranny. I have a GST trany that I want to put in. Do I just buy a turbo clutch and flywheel?

The motor/tranny mounts are different in a FWD turbo car. This is to sit the engine slightly forward to stop the bell housing (much bigger on the turbo tranny) from rubbing on somthing....the cross member I think???. Mavisky did a write-up on it as he went through the same process. A junk yard should have FWD turbo motor mounts, and if they don't I have a set lying around for cheap.

it will bolt up fine as long as the gst trans is a 92.5< also, otherwise you have to swap axles. just remember to take the block saver plate off your gs, other wise you will never get your starter to bolt up. You have to use the turbo flywheel, disc and pressure plate with a turbo trans. The mounts should be the same. I have a N/A trans in my 93 GST and everything fit fine except I forgot to take the block saver plate off when I swapped it.

well I'm doing n/a --> turbo so maybe I have to keep the plate on?

Also, what mounts do I have to change? I heard just the tranny mount but I'm also hearing that I need to change the front mount. There is a LOT of conflicting info out there!

your only changing trannys so the front mount is irrelavent. and you MUST either remove the GS plate and not use one or put a turbo plate on. the starter WILL NOT fit if you have the wrong plate on. I didn't have any problem with the mounts.
