OK I installed my apexi turbo timer using the guide on this site and its in there perfect and works great.

My problem is that when I pull the key to leave the car it kills the fan and my car idles with no fan running and overheats.

I tapped into 12+ the Acc Wire and the IGN 1 Wire I was wondering if you tap into IGN 2 if there is a differance in what stays running?

Also everything stays on my stereo it all stays working but the fan.

If I pull the key with the timer running it kicks the fan off put the key back in and turn to run and the fan comes back on.

If anyone has any info please help me out!

Wire a switch up to pin 20 on the ECU. Connect the other end of the switch to a ground. This is a much easier way to wire your fans up. Both will be on high when the switch is on and when the switch is off, fan operation will be normal. Also, the fans turn off with the ECU so it doesn't matter if you leave the switch on all the time when you take the key out.

Might just be easier to wire them up this way than troubleshooting. If you need more info, check this link out: http://www.teamls1.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=561

Im gonna move it to the other ignition wire and see if that kills the radio but runs the fan. I think there must be 2 sides to the switch one controls the fans and stuff the other the incar accessories.

I've always wondered whether you could wire up one fan to run on low speed until the fan thermoswitch tells it to quit - regardless of whether the ignition was on or not - kinda like a honda (I know - I know) - & not run the Battery down on a hot day...

Well if you remove the female spade lug that has the Blue wire with Black stripe from the connector frame under the Radiator Fan Relay - then add a wire to that lug with a 20 Amp fuse - I used an aftermarket mini-fuse (same as stock) block with 14 gauge wire & go straight to the Battery terminal with the other end of that wire. Replace the lug into the connector frame of course - The Radiator fan will then run whenever the Coolant Temperature Switch at the bottom of the radiator closes (on 185F - off 172F) - REGARDLESS of whether the Ignition is on or not. Slight safety hazard as it will cycle a few times after you cut the car off if it's warm outside - but there is a sticker telling you it comes on automatically! This will be a bigger deal in the Summertime here & anywhere South of S.C. IMO. I have the small hole in my Thermostat so the Coolant can flow via convection till it cools.

In addition to the Radiator fan coming on when the car is off & the Temp Switch says the coolant temps are above 185 (my desired "Mod") - IF you have the AC button ON BOTH FANS continue to run when you cut the car off & NEVER STOP - unless you let the AC button out. That "feature" could come in handy - but it could run a Battery down too... I told you guys I'm no electrician - The HOT SETUP would be to have a Timer in the Jumper I added to the Fan Relay.

My question though is why would I have to do all this excessive wiring? Others just plug and play with their timer. I am doing the same thing without a harness and it works just kills the fans. I am gonna switch the ign wire around and see if that fixes it I will add that to the Tech Article if that is what I find solves the problem. I already have a slim fan so its wired different then stock already.

You'd be ahead to eBay the TT, but I doubt I can sell you the idea.

Why's that switched from IGN 2 to IGN 1 and its golden. Just finished that up and it was no biggie at all. Fan now runs till the turbo timer shuts off. No funky wiring nothing just as it should work.

It's ONE wire from the Relay to the Battery via ONE Fuse Holder that allows Fan to cool Coolant during the Temperature spike seen immediately AFTER a Motor is shut off - whether you have a "Turbo Timer" or not - A good question is why people don't utilize most of the Stock wiring for their Aftermarket Fans to minimize "excessive wiring"?

I installed a second fan today. Just pulled wire from the stock BCS with a relay and fuse. The fan is on all the time until the ECU shuts off regardless of key position turbo timer remote start etc. So now i have 2 fans running during cool down and 1 on all the time when driving in traffic etc. Absolutely no overheat anymore! I also added a bottle of water wetter to increase cooling no problems since.
