Turbo timer help!!! PLEASE VERY LOST

(1990 fwd tsi) ok guys, listen, I got a apexi turbo timer, and no harness GRRRR anyway, I only have the ground wire hooked up, and then when I touch the 12V red to a 12V connection the timer blinks on then goes off really fast like 1 sec maybe its on for and I have no other wires connected, does this matter? do I need to hook up IG1 and IG2 for it to just turn on not function just turn on I can deal with the funtioning of it later I just wanted the power to work. if so where the hell are these cables under the dash, I have searched these forums for like an hour and found nothing, so please help me and dont tell me to buy the harness , Ive read all the other threads and people just kept telling him to get the harness.

alright I guess I will, how do you hook up the wires to the harness? meaning the wires from the timer itself do they fit into the little plugs or somthin?

It'll plug right in to your factory ignition harness.
