alright so what happens i start up my car in the cool morning and i'll leave for school and the turbos working a little bit, but once the car heats up it goes back down from -7-0 :toobad: boost and does not really go over zero, im thinking that it has to do with it heating up haha any ideas?? i dont know much about the whole car thing,
i did purchase an identicle turbo td05 b14 that i was gona put in but im thinking the turbo in now just has somthing minor wrong with it??

It could be that the waste gate is stuck open after heating up. You may just be able to swap out the actuator (they bronze thing that is attached across the bottom front). Do you hear any whistle sound when hitting the accelerator after warm-up?

Have you checked all the vacuum lines to make sure they are secure and in good condition? Are all the intake hoses properly seated and tightened? Have you/do you know how to check for boost leaks?

If you have a little hand vacuum pump to hook up to the blow off valve, you could check to see if it's opening only when the pressure is correct.

It's difficult to tell what the actual problem is without disassembling the entire thing after everything else is checked. Your best bet is to start at one end of intercooler piping (just after the turbo) and just make sure everything is tight as you follow it to the intercooler, then to the blow-off, to the throttle body. That rubber hose can expand pretty quickly when heated and reveal a lot of air leaks.

alright ill look at that bottom paragragh haha i dont know jack when it comes to cars i just like driving em. do ya think i could get rid of the other turbo i have?

You could put it in the classifieds once you become a proven member. It takes 50 posts to become a proven member.Good luck:thumb:

Well, don't necessarily drop the other turbo just yet. It could be that your turbo seals are bad or there are some other items in the seals that are causing the turbo to seize up once it reaches a certain temperature.

It could even be that the exhaust-side turbine wheel is out of round and expands until it locks against the housing. You could try swapping turbos, but it is a little more difficult than it looks with all the little water and oil lines, not to mention the surely rusted exhaust bolts.

hahaha yah they were very rusty me and my friend had a tough time but we relized that there was alot of stuff in the way ha

This post, I would check for any vac leaks first. Mine did that once, I just changed the wastegate. It was stuck open. Which means no good.

alright yesterday i unnatached the waiste gate and attached it to a diff one, but i just attached the hose, nothing changed was i soppsed to bult it on and everything wood that make a differnce haha

o yah when i put giv it gas it goes from -7 to about 2 boost thats always happend if i havnt already said that

Alright, keep the peanut gallery to a minimum. Also, try to use proper grammar, spelling, and capitalization. It makes everything much easier to read, understand, and lets the search engine work the way it is intended.

When you stated that you unattached the waste gate, were you talking about only disconnecting the vacuum hose? If you were trying to test if the wastegate actuator was dysfunctional, then you would need to unbolt that piece and replace it with another. Removing the hose will only make it not open once the pressure reaches the actuators intended boost level.

With so little description of what is actually happening I cannot give you any further ideas about what to do. I do not know what the vehicle is doing, other than seeming to only work when cold. If you cannot check your pressure system and make sure there are no substantial leaks then you can go no further. Take it to a shop if you want to keep it. Do not swap the turbo, as it could be something that will just burn out the replacement turbo.

yeahs i only attached the hose that goes into the wastegate i did not bolt the new wastegate on however. but im sure you just said i have to in order for it to work i was just kidding earlier, thanks

alright i hooked up the new wastegate, it did seem to respond faster but only to 2boost :(
i think im just gonna have Mitsubishi make it work haha
