Turbo my GS?

I boosted my RS and was like that for a year or 2, but then sold it and bought a 1g TSi AWD and couldn't be happier. Turboing the 420a is not for everyone, but taught me a lot about engines in general and carried over to the 4g63 quite easily.

Honestly though, if I were to do it all over again, I would have just gotten a factory turbo'ed car. If I would have known about all the money I spent on my 420a (and it wasn't even that modded), I would have just manned up and got a factory turbo and saved a lot of money. Hell, I got a built engine, 50 trim turbo setup car in great shape for $3100.

MAN!!! That sounds like a GREAT deal!!!:thumb:

I'm still not sure how someone else answering those types of questions irritates you.. but oh well :boring:. Listing out the parts someone would need for a turbo build is useful information, just block me so you don't have to read my answers anymore :thumb:

I wasnt saying that at all. I think we have a misunderstanding. I was referring to the guy that said sell the 420a and get a 4g63 because it will be less headaches. That was the guy that was irritating. I was being serious when I said give him your list for the build, because I think it is useful and I do appreciate that. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I too have learned a great deal from planning and building this turbo system I am SO close to installing.

While I don't have a 420A, I can say that if I had it to do over again, I would have just bought a GST. It's been fun, but that's a bunch of time (not talking money here since the difference between the cost of a GST and My GS with upgrades is about $0) that I could have spent upgrading to an awesome turbo street car, instead of just barely making a turbo car at all.

My $.02

I kinda did it reverse. I owned a 1g tsi it was a money pit and I sold it because I thought I wanted a dd dsm that could still go fast for reasonably cheap..HA. I learned the hard way that modded dsm dd is a oximoron. I know people dd their dsm's that have modded them but for me atleast I just go too far and like power speed corrupts and absolute speed corrupts absolutly. My build I have now, if I can stick it out and not flake cause I'll be the first to admit I'm bad with that cause I get a good deal and get off my plan, will be pretty dam quick. A found a guy selling jake's(JHR) old itb manifold so I'm kinda excited to see what that's gona do with my hx52 and jakes t4 divided manifold :rocks:

If you have a list of parts for a setup I'd be more then happy to read it :thumb:, as of right now it's looking like a hahn turbo with the other needed parts for the installation
