Turbo life?

What is the life expectancy of a turbo on a stock manual 1G?

not sure of the expectancy but mine has about 180,000 on it and its "ok" she leaks a little bit

The 14B is a pretty sturdy turbo with oil and water cooling. Life expectancy is related to many things including frequency of oil changes, boost levels, general condition of the engine..etc.

I had a 14B replaced by the dealor under warranty at 60K miles for a crack in the turbine housing and the replacement lasted 50K (upgraded to 16G) and was in perfect condition.

I wouldn't worry about a failure as a rebuild/replacement would be <$300 and an upgrade a little more than that
