Turbo Lag

Hi most of you already know I have a 420a turbo with side mount inter cooler just finished installing. Well my problem is that when I step on the gas in 1st gear I only create 2 psi and when I am on second gear I great 4 psi reving more than 7 thousand and on 3 I lag to the fullest so I dont know whats up. I tighten the actuator rod but nothing. I was thinking it could be that I have a DUAL WASTE GATE actuator both of the outlets I have them hook up on a T and then they run to the turbine I had been told it might be that I just need a BOOST controller but then again I have no clue. Any advice. forgot to mention I have a 2.5 exhaust system.

I smell a boost leak. Meaning you are losing pressure in the charge pipes throughout the cycle. You need to remove the front bumper and light up a stogey. Use a boost leak tester to seal off the turbo intake, then pressurize the system and look/listen for an air leak. Use the smoke from the cigg if you need to, you will see it being pushed away from the leak spot.

Do a search on this is you need a more detailed description. It is the same process for us and 4G63's.

ok I did what u told me and nothing happen no smoke anywhere. I did enjoy the cigg thought but it still the same.

this is what i did i took off the intake and i was blowing smoke inside and i saw no smoke come out trew any place so now what

Are you sure? Take off the turbo intake. Find some PVC plumbing and seal only one end of it off. Now clamp the other open end to the intake for your turbo. Tap a nipple to gauge the air pressure with, right on the outside end of the PVC pipe.

Now, take off your front bumper to expose ALL intercooler pipes. Find an air compressor and hook it up to the nipple on the end of your PVC, which should still be attached to the turbo intake. You want this as sealed as possible.

Now build some air pressure and see what happens. You may have done it right, but if it's done wrong you won't yield any results and presume that it's NOT a boost leak. Remember, you can do extensive searching on VERY detailed info on this all over these forums, if you are confused at all.

If you did everything accordingly, properly, then I'm not sure what else to tell you. I'll put money on it being a boost leak though.

EDIT: I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE THAT THUMBS DOWN CAME FROM. PLEASE DISREGARD.
