2G turbo gauge goes up and engine bogs out

I have a 95 eclipse GST 2g 4G63t engine. NO emissions, NO power steering, NEW wastegate, NEW boost controller. I think it is all hooked up wrong but I haven't got a clue how it is supposed to be hooked up so asking for a sanity check

I currently have the boost controller hooked to the first air port (just before the intake plenum) and the blow-off valve hooked up to the air port on the intake plenum. see the pics>>>

The engine revs fine sitting in the driveway ( the turbo gauge drops when I rev the engine) but when I start to drive the car and rev the engine, the turbo gauge goes above the + mark and the engine bogs hard. It doesnt die but I have to get off the gas. I don't hear any blow-off or the wastegate opening... so I think its not right

Any Ideas ??????

1. Recirculate your BOV!

2. Your Boost controller should be simple: Air source connects to inlet nipple//outlet nipple connects to wastegate. The line needs to be as short as possible and the source should be as close to the turbo as possible (compressor cover is the best spot). I don't know why you have multiple lines and that splitter piece.

3. Did the instructions state to have the pressure source on the wastegate at the bottom port and not the top port? On the TiAL at least, it's the top port that receives the boost pressure.

4. Do a proper boost leak test testing to at least 20psi and spray soapy water over everything that sees vacuum and positive pressure. You are looking for bubbles to form. The pressure should hold for at least a minute depending on how well the internals seal and if you have an open valve or not.

5. Put the cam gear cover on unless you want to rebuild your motor from a broken timing belt due to foreign objects getting into the timing case.
 
Thanks for the tips, The oil pressure feed is fine although I will be re-postioning it in the near future...
I found the problem... The outlet port of the intercooler came off. I was working on the car and it was smoking terribly, I looked down and noticed the output of the intercooler had fallen off. I repositioned the clamps and put it back on and that fixed the bogging down. I also reconfigured the boost controller and plumbed it as suggested and now I actually see an occasional boost ( up to about 8 lbs) on the gauge when I romp on it! woo hoo! Sure makes a difference when things are plumbed right! :thumb:
