turbo build necessities question

I am setting my 420a motor to have some boost only about 8 lbs now I have read many aritcles on here based on the build and most turbo setups require a whole lot of fuel upgrades but i was wondering with only 8 lbs of boost is all that necessary? could i just get a manifold a smic a small turbo BOV and a wastegate and run it?

There's a reason those articles say extra fuel is required. So no, you cannot boost the car without fuel upgrades. Unless you want to melt a piston.

Just get some bigger injectors, the stock fuel pump will be fine on 8lbs...(with a good tune)

Pretty sure the OP doesn't have anything to control other-than-stock injectors so he can't just throw in bigger injectors to fix the fuel requirement issue.

i dont know about the 420a's but i know on a 1g non turbo the fuel pump can barely support more than 5lbs of boost past 4k rpms. Bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, and something to tune with is a necessity when boosting a n/a motor.

True, although stock turbo injectors/fuel pump can be bought used for next to nothing. So its worth at least doing that.

Yes you must have a SAFC or something like megasquirt. If you can afford it MS is the way to go, however if you can't the SAFC usually goes for 80 bucks used.
