I am well aware of the older Anti-Lag Systems. Where the engine is retarded 20 or 30 degrees, and it fires with the exhaust valves open. But I also read about another system. This system places an injector upstream of the turbo (probably in one of the runners or collector in the manifold), and its turns on when the throttle plate is closed. There is no spark, the temperatures of the metal will burn the gas. I also read that there is no dramatic explosion. I've also read that the temperature is close to the EGT without it, so the internals of the turbo won't get damaged as quickly.

Please shed some more light on this.

If you put an injector in the manifold, it is doing the same thing as retarding the timing.. it is moving the combustion cycle to the exhaust manifold to spool the turbo. I suppose you could do it at 0 throttle, but there's wouldn't be much air to combust, and all the air would have already been combusted once, so the o2 content would be lower. I'd hope temperature is close to EGT, since EGT stands for exhaust gas temperature. If you are worried about damaging your turbo, you have no business on anti-lag.

A friend of mine once said, "If you can't afford to bring your car home in a bucket, you have no business being at the track." Less reading, more thinking.
