ok, ive been tryin to figure out what kind of turbo i want for the longest time. im going to be aiming for about 350 - 400 hp, and 12 second 1/4 mile times, low 12's. are 12's even possible with 350 hp or less? i hear good things about evoIII's and 20G's. but i dont know if i wanna just get a mitsu turbo. im thinking maybe i want something hybrid, but i dont know anything about turbos. whats the best bang for my buck, things like that. I know there are a ton of other 16G vs 20G threads but, im just wondering if an evo will be good enough for now, and work up to a hybrid or 20G later.

now i have an exhaust question. anyone have any experience with buschur racing 3" DP and Exhaust?

well the most popular turbos are the 16G and 20G becase their big turbos but also good for daily driven cars. Thats what you have to ask yourself, Do you want a daily driver as well as a street racing car ? If yes, like me i went with an EVO and i am loving it. Im only running 10 PSI because of bad injectors (had to put stockers back on). Even at 10 PSI i love it but i cannot wait to crank it up. The EVO will get you into the 12's . Also why dont you want mistu turbo? I think that they make good products. I cant vouch for other manf. as i have only had mistu stuff in car.

it'll be daily and street. its not that i dont want a mitsu, im just wondering if theres maybe something out there more worth my money, and maybe a little more efficient. maybe a ball bearing or something. ill probably just end up going with evoIII right now, and 20G in the future

Ball bearing turbos are over twice the price of a nice EvoIII B16G. Both will get you into the 12's. But with the extra $400-500 you save on the EvoIII, you can put that into a nice FMIC or fuel mods. ;)

good call on savin some money. i guess i can just go with an evoIII for now, and upgrade to a 20G later when i come across one. but i would only need 550's and a 190 pump for the evo turbo correct? then go with 650's and a 255 pump for the 20G? or should i just go ahead with the 255 now, and 550's and upgrade injectors later?

Here is a link to get the Walbro 255 Pump for $82.00. I just bought one yesterday.

Check out slowboyracing for the EVO III TURBO. you can get the turbo, exhaust manifold,Gaskets, o2 housing and all supporting lines n bolts for a little over $1k as what i paid.

F.Y.I. according to craig @ slowboy racing the 3.0 exhaust has to be slightly modified to bolt up to the EVO III O2 housing because of the different angles the 02 sits at.

this is assuming you have a 1g AWD of course. im not sure if it affects other cars.
