tuning time

Alright so I just finished with my FP Big28 install and it's running great right now. Everything in my profile is up to date for the car. My next move for sure is I'm getting a logger. But after that I want to start tuning, so should I get my AFC II or would it be the absolute smartest thing to do to get some 550's and THEN get the AFC? Thanks for your help.
