I had noticed I was leaking antifreeze from the water feed line to the turbo. I need to buy new crush washers but I had an idea...

...Would it be safe to use brass barbed fittings and fuel line for the coolant hoses to and from the turbo? My only worry is that the heat will expand the fittings.

Anybody have any experience with this??

I wouldn't recommend that simply due to the heat the housing and exhaust will put out. If you have everything clean and properly prepped, your crush washers shouldn't leak at all.

If you can get the turbo off I would take it to a place like carquest or napa and find some fittings with the same thread pitch for the coolant inlet/outlet on the turbo. That's what I did and it worked perfectly. I also used rubber transmission oil cooler line and routed it from the thermostat housing to the inlet facing the radiator. I then had it exit from the outlet facing the block going back into the water pipe.

Back from time,

but will this oil line be good enough for the coolant temperature and pressure? I plan on replacing the water lines on the turbo, so which size hose should I get?

You should be able to order the barbed fittings from jeggs or your local performance shop should be able to get them for you. I would run 3/8 line at least. There shouldn't be anymore then 10psi in the coolant lines so you should be fine. I have had a few friends do there setup like that and it looks good. It worked awesome. You can buy barbed banjo fittings.
