So I bought my 90 GSX off a weird dude who never needs to touch a car again. He said that he did a 91+ harness swap with a newer EPROM ECU.

This car has been a wiring nightmare! Twisted wires everywhere, and black tape galore. I have gotten most of this fixed so far.

Tonight I was messing with the ECU and came across a piggybacked harness. It's been put together with Gator clips. I tried to snap some pictures to show what I am talking about. I did not want to mess with any of it because the car is running good at the moment, except I keep getting a Code 43.

This is not a California ECU. It has resistors in both r129 and r130, which should make this a Federal FWD ECU.

Any clues what this harness is for? Sorry the picture is fuzzy. I had my camera crammed into the radio compartment. There is another, larger, unplugged connector underneath of this that you can barely see. That is where the wires are spliced into.

Looks like at some point someone installed either a SAFC, or a turbo timer. I would lean more towards it being for an SAFC. Is the a connector that is not pluged into anything off of that harnesss?

Also on a side note, be careful not to mention race. Race of a person is not important. There are some very good friends of mine that are Mexican and do the most insane wire tucks and audio installations I have ever seen. I know you meant no harm. Try next time to say "a person I bought the car from".

I know that this is not for a turbo timer or SAFC. The unplugged connector is part of the cars wiring harness. It looks like part of the 90 harness piggy backed into it. I just do not know what it is actually for. I was thinking possibly for the gauges, but I am unsure. I want to make sure before I go cutting and soldering the wires to get rid of the cheap wire taps.
