What are the aftermarket companies that offer true 3" catback exhausts with no neckdowns? Also, what is the estimated outlet on a ported evo 02 housing? Thanks.

i've seen the n1 and it does get bigger than 3 at the back but in the beginning it looks like it's smaller than 3". If anyone can correct me, then I know what catback exhaust I'm going with. I plan on a 50 or 60 trim so i want a true 3" exhaust.

I have an RNR stainless full 3" exhaust. It is 3" all the way through, the only part it isnt is at the 02 housing where it is 2.5". I run a punishment racing 2.5" tubular 02 housing. They mate up perfectly. I bought the RRE 2.5" 02 housing/DP gasket which was perfect.

I would be willing to bet that an EVO3 02 housing with a REAL port job would be somewhere around 2.5-2.7", someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I personnally think a 3" 02 housing is overkill, unless you are going to actually run that 60 trim and be whomping on it.

The Apexi N1 downpipe is 2.5 before the flex section then goes to 3inch. I have the downpipe from SBR, alot of dsm companys sell a 3inch downpipe, you'll have to get a bigger 02 housing or port your stocker out crazy even then you'll still not be enough. I just picked up a Evo3 o2 housing and ported it.

Unless they have changed the N1 catback, it isn't 3in all the way!
It actually necks down inside the can to properly fit the silencer. I have the N1 and have posted pics of this before.
I still have no complaints about it though.

I am pretty sure RNR is the only one that offers a full 3" from turbine to tip in kit form.

I know my RNR is a full 3". The rest I see kneck down to attach to the OEM parts.

This is the one I have, http://slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=1435& , it does have a very very small section for the flange to fit it, but thats it. The rest if a full 3inch, but that doesnt even matter

I run a 60-1 and my 3"has a 2" orless section that necks down to 2.5" to attach to my ported EVO 02 but if you gotta have it try www.kteller.com as they are much cheaper thn RNR and much quicker from what I hear.

I picked up a full 3" termal research exhaust off of horsepowerfreaks.com, the trick not to get the 2 1/2 reducer for the cat bolt up is to tell them your not using 1 ;) i told the kid i was talkin to from HPF that i wasn't using a cat and i don't want a flang or reducer.. sure enough from the 02 housing back is 3" with a 4" n1 style tip :thumb: :dsm:

well i was linked here by another member one here when i was looking for a 3' inch turbo-back.

3in turbo-back

i emailed them asking them if it was an 02 eliminator, is it a full 3 in, and if it was a complete SS systems. they emailed me back this.

"That system does not replace the O2 Housing, it bolts up to the stock location of the stock O2 Housing. The turbo-back exhaust is full stainless steel right down to the flanges. It is also a true 3" exhaust that does not neck down at all except where it bolts to the O2 housing. There is no other exhaust on the market that will out-perform this turbo-back system.

ATR does. I use one. 3" O2 housing on a small 16g might be a little overkill but I don't plan on staying small for very long. Plus at the price I paid I'm not complaining about anything. New the ATR is a little pricey but is very nice and well worth it.

I like my apex'i n1 turbo back, It sounds good and made a big difference definatly from the stock piece of junk exhaust.
I guess it's even better that I paid $300.00 for the turbo back apex'i exhaust brand new with all hardware, Never even opened out of the box to be looked at :D

Yes I purchased the Extreme Motorsports exhaust for my first mod. I wanted a 2.5 DP with 2.5 test pipe then flow into a 3 incher. The only thing that went wrong was when i got it in the cat-back 3 incher necked down to the stock exhaust size. I ended up going with the hi-flo but thats another story. The point is that created a huge restriction that bugs me. I payed so much for it and I didn't get want I wanted. Oh well at least i was able to jam the cat's 2.5 inch flange with the stock neck down flange. (with help of a mallet). Oh well other that that the exhaust sounds great (I have the optional resonator). My friend has a 1970 440-6 'Cuda..... well it doesn't sound like that but it is still low. It hangs great and sounds orgasmic. Alittle pricey but hey you get what you pay for. And when a basically stock GST pick up a whole nother gear to spin through the exhaust must be working.

The exhaust neckdown is a trivial pressure loss. I'd remove it only if I needed to drop in a 3" downpipe, just to get things bolted in neatly, not for any huge gains in pressure drop removal. A couple inches of neckdown is a minimul increase in pressure drop, whether its in the muffler or at the cat flange. Its not some flow restricting device unless the diameter is so small the exhaust velocity hits Mach 1.

Just go to a local shop and get one made. Mine cost $350 for everything. Its all 3" from the o2, to the dp, to the catback. I have no resonators or cat. I have a magnaflow muffler that is 3" in/out straight through. My exhaust sounds amazing and not like the angry bumble bee ones that most run. It actually has a nice deep tone.

You must not have a lot of DSM's in your area. They all have the same exhaust sound, sorta diesely dump truckish. I have never heard a DSM that sounded like a bumble bee.

i love how extreme motorsports doesnt have any pics of thier exhaust. Ofchourse hes goiong to tell you it will outpreform any other exhuast he sells them and is tryint to sell one to you. as i posted earlier i really like the look of the DSS 3in. it has very minimal bends and if it is in fact a true 3in then for $745 to my door who can beat that?
