I am putting in a RMsway bar in my 1991 tsi awd, and am having a huge amount of trouble with getting the stock bar out. I was forced to cut the endlinks off the bar(due to me not being able to get them off with air tools). I read the vfaq, but can't get the bar is completely flip up, the e-brake cables aren't in the way, the control arms are in the way instead. Thanks for the help, and sorry for the bad typing, my hands are kinda numb right now.

Silly question but the rear end is jacked up all the way, right? Meaning no weight is being supported by the rear suspension at all. There should be enough room to rotate the stock bar until it comes out, same with getting the new one in.

When I did my ST rear bar I got the stock one out no problem. Had to do some twisting and turning of the bar. Putting the ST bar in is were I had trouble. I ended up lowering the rear diff a little to gain more clearence. If all else fails I supose you could do that to get the bar out if you have to.

The car is on a hoist, with the lifts on the seam welds, so the suspension is dropped all the way. I've already tryed cutting the actual sway bar(because i'm not going to use the old one) to get it out, but gave up on that idea. Its ziptied into place right now so i could drive it tonight to work, but tomorrow it needs to be off. This is very weird, i have no problem with the e-brake cables(they broke so i just moved them), but if i get one side to be in a good position, the other side is underneath the lower control arm on the other side. I did have another person help too. Any more help would be extremely appreciated.

i have the swaybar in kinda right now, but cannot get it all the way down, because the links that attach to the actual bar get in the way. Do i need to remove these, and if i do, how, i have tryed to use a 14mm wrench to hold the back, but they do not budge(my bar came with them already attached.)

I know its illegal to bump threads, but i really need your help on this problem with my swaybar, and now endlinks. Thanks for your help, and sorry for temporarily breaking the rules.

Not budging one bit, i have tryed air tools on it too, but cannot hold the wrench on the back nut.

Spray it with some PB Blaster and let it sit for 10 minutes, repeat 3-4 times, then hit it with an impact wrench. If still no luck, pull out a torch and heat it up then hit it with the impact wrench. If you are using a socket, pull out a nice long cheater bar and put in a lot of elbow grease.

Ok, thank you, i put the project to rest this week while i fixed more important things(like a cracked valve cover), but i'll just cut them off, sucks.
