Transmission Problem

Hi.. I'm not completely sure what's going on with my a/t transmission.. I have a 91 eagle talon tsi awd.. Last week during the winter storm, i was able to drive it, and the awd worked great... Then the next day, even with the car warmed up, it took literally 2-3 seconds to get into gear... i would wait till i feel it get into gear... i drove it.. and after 2nd gear, the rpms just flew up.. i had to put it to 2 to drive it back home.. Now, i can't even put it in Drive.. it doesn't catch at all.. reverse still works but it takes a few seconds to get in.. Is the whole tranny fried?

I also forgot to add.. that when the car is in neutral, it makes weird grinding noises now..

i had thw same problem with mine same problem,, i don'y know what happend but i'm just converting it to a manual

First things first: did you check the fluid level?

yeah i agree with defiant, check your fluid. also, im not sure about 1g autos, but if they have a tranny fluid filter, change that. how many miles on the car? that might help.

If you're hearing grinding noises, even though it's a good idea to check fluid levels, I'd say that's the least of your worries.
Weird thing is that you have Reverse, yet no D...usually the first thing to go is R.
