Okay, This morning I was driving as usuall when I felt the car jerk and what sounded like a belt snapping.

I pulled over to a parking lot and check the engine bay for a broken belt, or a leak somewhere. Everything seemed to be running fine. So, I decided to pull out of my parking spot and proceed back to work when, I heard what sounded like some nasty grinding. I moved over to another parking spot to look under the vehicle and saw some fluid leeking under the center diff (or what I think it is). Some thoughts were the U joint but, am not sure yet.

If there is any input that anyone has I would greatly appreciate it.

Here is a little more info - I did a search and checked out the transfer case recall and saw that it may have to do with my problem. But, I am also thinking that it has to do with my front driveshaft - cv joints. It seems like the joints cracked and the shaft and joint are rubbing together. It sounds disgusting. If anyone has any experience with this I would appreciate the help.

I found the problem - I looked under the car yesterday and say a huge crack under the transfer case. I'm pretty sure the thing is bone dry. No big deal, I got a new one ready to go in. :thumb:

YEAH!!! I just got finished swapping out my transfer case 10 minutes ago and the car is very happy right now. It took me exactly two hours since this was my first time doing this not to mention by myself. I didn't have to take the downpipe all the way off - I just disconnected it from the o2 housing. I pulled the first two sections of the driveshaft off and the rest of the swap was pretty easy. :thumb: If anyone has any questions about this go ahead and shoot me a message. :thumb:
