Tranny went out...HELP!!!

there was a grinding sound from my transmission, i pushed the clutch in and it stopped, when i let the clutch back out the front tires locked up, now my car will only move 2 feet fwd or rev. HELP!!!

I bet you had a bearing failure in your transmission. Pull it off and take a look.

Your throw out bearing could be shot but if it locks up you have some internal damage. I have a 92 1G also and the tranny is going. You can find decent used ones on ebay for around 200.
