okay heres whats going on. took the 2g eclipse with 6 bolt swap and 4500 clutch kit out for a spin to tune/drive today and the car has a "sputter" "and vibrates when driving up hill under a load in all gears from 2-3500rpm. after 3500 it runs like a bat outa hell. still breaking the new motor in. low boost. i tried adjusting the afc and MAF translator to add fuel which it seemed it was the problem, but it didnt fix anything. tranmission? clutch? also could it be bad fuel filter? i have a 255lph and have perfect FP. 880pte injectors. HELP!

anyone?

plugs are new/good. NGK. New accell wires. Brand new everything. Playing around with the afc did nothing! thinking it might be a fuel filter??? walboro 255 was not re-wired just plugged into oem. after 3500rpm car runs fine and car boosts. ran boost leak test and all good. the car shakes vilantly as if i was riding the clutch. a/f gauge reads around 13.5 while under load going up hill at 2500rpm and will cycle to 15.2 and back down to 13 and so on.

would the oem wiring for the fuel pump cause be sufficent enough to run the pump under a load at mid RPM?

Have you checked your fuel pressure under a load? If the filter was the cause it shouldnt just stop at 3500 rpm becuase you still need alot of fuel even after 3500 rpm.
Even if the pump draws more amps, it would have to blow the fuse first. I dont think that the wiring is the problem.

Now that i think about it, it sounds like ignition. Have you checked all of you plugs and wiring. I had a bad coil once and it would only misfire at high rpms.

im not 100 percent sure, but im thinking it could, it makes sense.

if not enough volts are getting to the fuel pump, its not pumping enough fuel. not enough fuel means misfire/bogging.

okay. well i think im going to replace the fuel filter first since thats an easy job and if that doesnt help ill probably move to rewire the fuel pump straight off the battery with some heavy gauge wire and ground it out too.

im using the stock coil. what would be a good upgrade from the oem coil?
