I've been told that supposly you dont need to change the tranny oil on manual cars , but I know about the clutch fluid , my question is should I do a tranny oil change the same time I change the clutch fluid ?

False, whether you have a manual or an automatic car, the fluid needs to be changed at regular intervals.

The link above is a DSM maintenance schedule, it recommends every 30k miles or 24 months.

Some of us change it more regularly than other, but I would not exceed 30k mark. I personally change it every 15k, I drive hard and I dont mind repetitive maintenance.

Clutch fluid does not need be changed as often transmission fluid AT/MT, transfer case and rear diff, for us AWD guys.

There is much speculation as to which type of fluid is best, safe for out trans, etc. As long as it is a GL4 fluid and not GL5 specific, you should be fine. Redline MT90 is a piopular choice.

GL5 is yellow metal safe, whats the diff with GL4? Have to buy GL5 in 5gal jugs for my old army truck.
