Hey everyone, I'm kind of new to all this and i need help. My transmission mount under my upper inter cooling piping, like right in front but under the battery cracked all around it where the bolts connect to the tranny. I noticed the car rattles way way more and such and i don't want to risk driving it. Does anyone know the price it would be to fix it if i brought it to a shop/ or the dealer. I heard it will be expensive. Or if i did it my self how would i do it? Is there a specific part number for that tranny mount i would have to order? I haven't driven my car in a week because of this ! Please any help! I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot guys. :)

Or if anyone can give me a web site where i can buy the right one? Ill take a picture of it if you guys need to see what I am talking about i can clearly see it and a picture will show it all. Thanks alot.

Thanks alot guys i appriciate it. What if i was to install this myself? Do i have to drop the tranny to put it in? Or should i just have someone do it for me? When i was looking at it; it seems as if i can just take off the intercooling piping off the throttle body and take out what ever else is blocking me from getting to it, unbolt it, and slide it out.. im not sure if that will work at all, but if someone can help me out on how to take it out and install the new one i will greatly appriciate it. Thanks again. :)

The transmission mount is actually the hardest one to get at. This is because of the studs that stick up from the transmission through the mount. You can easily remove all of the nuts/bolts for it, but you really have to lower the transmission (if you don't remove it) to take out the mount. I don't want to say you have to drop the transmission because you might be able to do it without dropping it. But I'm not going to say it's an easy job like some of the other mounts.

Alright, thanks man. I was thinking i would have to drop the tranny to do it. I mean it seemed as an easy job but considering i have to drop the trans and such to do so might be hard for me because im limited on time. But thanks for your help, i will most deff. order the part off that site you guys gave me and most likely bring my car to a shop and have them do it for me to save me time. Thanks again for your help.

Because of the studs that Brian mentioned, you will need to remove your lower engine crossmember and both front and rear motor mounts to allow enough room to take out that mount. You will also need a jack with a wide head (so it doesn't damage anything) on the oilpan or transmission since there will only be 1 mount holding the motor in.

Thanks, and with that specific part you guys sent me.. are all the tranny mounts the same? Would that specific one on that site go right where mine broke? Are there different ones? Let me know because the one that broke on mine is on the passenger side and i can see it when i open my hood.. if thats the right one ill order it this weekend and give it a shot.

Here's the CAPS screen shot so that you can see where the mount is in the engine. The one you are describing (passenger's side, under uicp) is the transmission mount.

The part number for that specific mount is in post #4. And as I said before, MAKE SURE the mount is for the transmission you have as they ARE DIFFERENT.

When I removed my tranny side mount I cut off/grinded down the tips of the studs so that I could get the mount up and over the studs without lowering the tranny/engine. Just an option.

Your description of the way it broke seems strange to me. I just wonder if there is some other underlying issue that caused that to happen. I suppose maybe someone could have previously over torqued the nuts.

As far as the specific part you need just follow Brian's advice in post #4.

EDIT: Yeah I know Brian, I type too slow.:p

Let me know. Sorry if im being a nag, im just new to all this and i want to make sure i dont do nothing stupid because i put in enough money into this car. Haven't we all haha.

Lol yeah i just wanted to show you guys but, it seems pretty quick to take out.. the thing is putting in the new one  LOL

It cracked after i chirped 2nd gear one day and i noticed the car rattled even more than it did before and it felt funny while driving it and i looked under the hood and saw that.. but hopefully it will be fixed by next week. Thanks for all your help guys.

Well, it looks like it shouldn't be too hard to get the broken one off :p

No kidding.

There may be damage to one or more of the other mounts as well. Something to keep and eye out for.

Well if you decide to go that route, I have for sale a polyurethane motor mount. I can get you pics if you want. When I had my new tranny installed I was going to have that motor mount replaced. My mechanic forgot to install it, so now I have no need for it.

OMG You might want to also consider a set of prothane motor mounts.

From the picture, it looks like he does have some prothane inserts for his mounts. At lease that's what it looked like to me with that red around the mount.

You need a new OEM Trans mount. Then you can have the rubber bushing pressed out. Once you have the old OEM bushing out you can install your poly mounts. You already have Polyurethane engine mounts....that's why they are red.
