Ok my clutch was has not been in good shape for the past month and it started to make a grinding sound going into 2nd gear, but no other gears made sounds. Sometimes the stick shift wont go into gear easy and sometimes when I press the gas to the floor right after shifting it does not excellarate well as if something was slipping because I then have to take my foot off the gas and press it again to get the car to feel right. Then a week or so later the clutch seems like it cant engage 2nd gear anymore so I have had to be skipping over 2nd going from 1st to 3rd.

Now my clutch seems to be stuck in 1st gear, like I cant put it in reverse or 3rd and I have no neutral. Pep Boys have the car right now and I ordered a Center Force 1 clutch. Think this could fix the problem?

It doesn't sound like it. For your 2nd gear issue, it sounds like syncrhos. You may also want to check your shifter cables, they could be possibly be worn. Either that or you may need a new trans. You say your clutch is slipping- when you step on the gas, from 2krpms for example, does the car jump to like 5-6k immediately, but the car doesn't accelerate? When you get done driving, can you smell something burning? If so, then yeah your clutch is slipping.

I seriously doubt your new clutch is going to fix everything. From what I had to deal with my car, it sounds like your trans. I do hope I'm wrong.

Yes, even sometimes while im driving i smell something burning like a belt smell or something after I do that.

There is a distinct difference between a burning belt, and a burning clutch. Can you tell exactly where this smell is coming from?

Yea, its the clutch does not smell just like a belt but a smell of something burning after I feel the car slipping when trying to accelerate.

Ok, though I don't personally think it will, it would be a cool deal if the clutch fixes your other issues. Good luck.

Yea, i dont think its going to help with the grinding of 2nd gear but i might be able to get it out of 1st and have a reverse now LOL.

If it doesn't I HIGHLY suggest you get the transmission checked out. Broken, flying parts do not discriminate.

the 2nd gear prob sound like synchros my first tranny lost the 5th gear synchros and messed everything up. the tranny i have now (my third) is doing the same 2nd gear thing yours is doing make sure they bleed the air out of your clutch system too or your clutch wont work right just like brake systems good luck

ps dsm's rule but there trannys suck big hairy ones
