i'm just curious what kind of track times can be seen from a stock 1g awd with just weight reductions. i plan on taking out the a/c crash bars, p/s, back seats, passenger seat and all the shit from the hatch. what kind of times can i expect out of this? my next step will be free mods and and exhaust, front mount, and some kind of tuning. this is after tune up and making sure i'm up to date w/ all maitinance. thanks for the input in advance.

This is called bench racing, so your thread is a fail.
No one can predict those variables, you just have to do it and find out.

Rule of thumb is every 100lbs you take off equals you shaving off 1/10th of your ET.
So say you were running 14.0, you do 300lbs weight reduction and theoretically you should do 13.7 with the same driving.

Theres plenty of weight reduction threads around you should check out that will help give you more ideas on what kind of weight you can drop off of that thing.
Sounds like you dont care about creature comforts so in that case I also suggest removing all your sound deadner, padding under carpet, covert to manual seat belts, manual windows, light weight racing seats, remove all the heatshields under the hood etc.
Theres a lot more you can do that you havent listed.

i have been looking at all the threads about weight reductions, and i do plan on doing the things you have listed as well. i just wanted to see if anyone has, or had a setup like that and to see what times they have run. it would be alot easier to just take it to the track and find out for my self, which i would love to do. the only problem is my local track will be closed for a couple months due to renovations. so i just wanted some kind of feedback now.

My reply from your other thread about the same thing that got deleted or closed just like this one will:

I'm not thinking this is bench racing. Its close. But the op asked for what he can expect. Any one could tell him that on a 14sec car every 100lbs is about .1sec and 1mph. I belive bone stock these cars went mid to low 15's. So figure out how much weght you'll loose and go from there. I bet a stripped car with the freemods could go high 13's

But the op asked for what he can expect.

Exactly. Nobody can give an accurate answer to that. We can't factor in track temp, air temp, altitude, 60ft time, how he shifts, any boost leaks the car has, base timing being off, the ecu picking up knock, if the clutch slips, what rpm he shifts at in each gear, how loose or tight the engine is, the condition of the engine and transmission, etc etc.

i didn't make the thread intending to cause any problems i was just wanted to see what others have done with the same a simular setup. sorry for any problems that i caused. as i said before i will be taking it to the track to find out for myslef but it won't have a chance for months because of my local track being closed. sorry again.
