Makes me think the same id take it off n make sure everyrhing lined uo good before you put it back on or theres always the off chance the new ones bad

tsi u hit it on the money the tb got stuck open I was tripping hard I had to be somewere I fixed it seems to drive a little better I think the tps is out of adjustment just a little bit thanks for the responses

Yeah it sucks how critical the tps is to the engine management. I currently have an intermittent wiring issue with my tps which has stopped my car in traffic, on the way to the race track, while on the race track, and while testing in the pits for an unrelated issue. Very frustrating :) I'm sure you'll sort out the voltage. If you have dsmlink it's trivial since you can just make the ecu use whatever range your tps is outputting, otherwise you'll need a multimeter, but I'm sure you know all that now.

Did you fix it? whats the link? u ever hear of a tps causing sporadic downshifting.

I don't have an automatic so I don't know how the tps might affect the TCU to be honest.

You know, based on FoxRacing4500's video I think my information on TPS affecting engine management may not be entirely accurate. So in his video he shows clearly he can rev the engine with the tps completely disconnected, whereas I cannot. I was blindly thinking when I had my issues (which were tps loses voltage, suddenly I can't revn engine with throttle) that was because the TPS was somehow needed generally for fuel/spark, and just moved on with that conclusion. However his video completely contradicts that and made me realize my error. My TPS is an EVO tps that has no idle switch, and I simulate it based on TPS value via DSMlink. If my tps is disconnected, then the ECU will see ~0 volts at the tps line and conclude it's still idling and thus set the idle switch to on putting the engine management in idle "mode", preventing engine control via throttle I bet. I bet that's why it works for FoxRacing4500, because with his tps disconnected the idle switch goes to 0 and so the throttle control is restored.

In short, ignore my little comment earlier about how critical the tps is to engine management, I think I'm just an idiot that jumped to a wrong conclusion based on my modified setup due to how different it is from stock!

As for diagnosing if the tps voltage is affecting automatic transmission shifting, you could datalog with ecmlink and watch tps voltage, assuming you are able to replicate the issue while datalogging. That would be your best bet. Sorry I can't say one way or another this will be the fix.

Again, sorry for spreading my misinformation and thanks to FoxRacing4500 for setting me straight (even though that wasn't his intention!).
