Topped out?

Has anyone ever topped out there car, or what is the fastest you have ever gone in your dsm? I was just very curious just poped in my head.

Judging by mine they must run out of gear at like 160-170mph, which I'm sure most of our cars wouldn't have a problem doing. I did 140mph in mine just to see what it would do, it was still pulling when I let off. I'll never do that again, these cars aren't very stable at speed and its really not worth it.

130 in my tsi with one passenger bone stock pass an 18weeler i dont think your going to get a stock awd gsx or tsi past the 150

Our gearing sucks for top speed records , I went 245KPH or in the usa that would be 153.12 MPH, I was at almost 7000 RPM in 5th .

i've had mine at about 800 rpms past what the speedo will read, i dont really know how to calculate what the actual speed would have been. Reminder never do that again, rotors dont like it to well and neither do my arms. Never would think about doin it with someone with me either. Also this was my FWD not an AWD. I think that may play a difference.

Do you know how to calculate what the ticket would cost? Let's see, 185mph in a 65mph zone... that's $10 per mile/hour over the limit = jail!

Also just a after thought are cars were never made for top end, dsms were not biult to compete with farrari's its all about that sweet quarter mile or stop light to stop light,and that as were we have hardly any compitition.

actually it was on a back road by my mothers house where there is about a 4 1/2 mile straight stretch, and the speed limit is only 45 haha so calculate bigger haha

He had 160 burried. When I first saw this link I believe his avc-r (or whatever he was using) logged 171 or something along those lines.

Its at 135-137. I used to hit it all the time -- on the front stretch at VIR! The car was very stable, just remember to close the sunroof first!

I decided to see how fast I could make it from a near town to the one I live in. It was 9 miles and about 3:00 am with nothing but straight open highway in front of me. I ended up making it in just under 4 minutes which averages out to about 135. I got pulled over too because there was a cop sittin right at the edge of town as I was coming into it and I was doing about 140-145 in a 25 and after 2 miles when he finally got close enough to turn on his lights and pull me over I ended up getting only a warning for "excessive speed" because when I passed him I went by so fast that his radar didn't get to lock on my car and give a reading giving him nothing to make a case out of. A rather lucky night, to say the least! But yeah, I wound even my lousy 420A to about 145, which was about 7k rpms. Damn that .81 5th gear! Not near the top end that you .666 awds and .741 fwd turbo guys get!
