hey Tuners,
I went to the junkyard and I found a 2g talon FWD tsi and I found TOKICO blue shocks with stock springs. I was wondering if there is a difference in AWD shocks than FWD shocks? Also should I get them they said $40 a shock and spring so about $160 for all 4 is this a good deal to get them. It does not look like they are shot or worn at all. I took them off and hid them in a jeep so I can get it tomorrow if I should buy them. Tell me what you guys think?
thanks in advance.

I think they are the same but I could be wrong, either way 160 dollars is a great deal if they are in good shape like you said.

btw nice job hiding them in the jeep :sneaky:

Oh yeah that is a great price. I would deffinately pick those up. But, I am not sure if the shocks will fit though. If you go onto a place like expremepsi and you shop for shocks they usually ask whether your car is a FWD or an AWD so, to me that is saying that the shocks are different from each other. Just a thought

the front are the same but the rear is different

HU3532 is the front #
HU3533 is the AWD REAR for 95-99
HU3534 is the FWD REAR for 95-99

Hope this helps

well if they are different should I get them anyways so I can sell it to someone who has a GST or should I just leave it there at the Junkyard. thanks

I say get them, keep the fronts and then sell the rears. Even if you buy the rears for yourself brand new, your still saving a ton of money. Good luck:thumb:

how much do these struts would cost at a vendor because I look at the shruts and they don't look like the ones I pulled out of the car. But I do know that they are TOKICO, can they be the older model TOKICO or maybe it was just kind of dirty, because the TOKICO i have seen look bright blue and the ones at the junkyard are lighter blue, or maybe there is no difference at all.

the blues are worth far less then the 5-way adjustables. See if there is a dial on the top.

I know that they are not Adjustables but I guess they are still a good idea. I guess I will sell them to a GST owner and see how it goes and hopefully it is still there at the junkyard.

I personally would pass at $40 a corner..............the springs are useless to you, and you can pick up new shocks (blues) for a tad over $200. Re-selling the shocks alone more than likely will not get your money back, and anybody can find springs at the junk yard themselves, so you wouldn't get any return there either.

I vote.....leave 'em there.

I would leave them. Just buy them new. That isn't such a great deal and you also got to deal with trying to sell the rears.
