I bought a car that had these shocks on it, and I know that to adjust them you turn the stem in the top of the stud. My problem is there is nothing there to give me any kind of indication about what the hell they are set at, and the adjustment doesn't stop at either end. I have absolutely no idea wtf these are set at, and I really don't want to drop $600 on shocks just because I can't be sure they are all set the same.... Someone please help me out here...

To know what setting you are on, you need the red caps as shown below:

Contact the manufacturer for replacement caps. You may, or may not get the center adjustment piece. They are the adjusted with a small flat screwdriver.

You should be on 5 right now (as 2gmitsueclipse stated) If you want proof... set all of them to 5 drive it... then set them to 1. You will feel a difference. The screwdriver slot has the two white half moons at one end of the slot. The orientation of that feature to the "flat" on the threaded tube (under the red cap) is the setting.
