So my brother and I had a timing issues that caused my car to be immobilized. We fixed the timing issue and even replaced the head gasket but now a lot of new issues have risen. My rpms fluctuate between 900-1200 and when you give it gas it'll get to 2000 and then jump around really fast up and down between 1500 and 2500 then keep climbing. Both radiator fans runs from startup now (don't know how that happened, my brother broke a wire in a plug on the thermostat and I believe that's the cause). Also I still need to hold down the gas to start the engine. Something is smoking from the back of the block too. I looked under the car from the wheel well without the wheels on and didn't see smoke but you can see it from the top. This is just becoming to much. I would like to take it to a shop but I don't know how much I would be looking at and I know some shops are shady.

Well seems like a lot you may have to find a shop, or sell the car and start over could be compression issues, timing wiring, sensor a lot of things. Tow it to a shop and do one thing at time.

The shop I wanna take it to has helped most of my family with their vehicles. But they give me the details before they begin working, so I hope it's nothing to bad.

smoking from back of block kinda sounds like a starter wire melting like its grounding out and the idle surges which is your rpm jumping rapidly sounds mostly like either or combo of TPS, IAS, and your CAS i would check those first
