I'm about to remove my intake manifold, o2, exhaust housing for some extensive porting :) the only thing i'm worried about is breaking off any bolts. aside from spraying PB blaster is there anything I can do the help me remoe these studs???

:dsm:

All you can do on the exhaust studs is spray them with some PB blaster and pray none break off in the head. I ended up having to take my head off to get a broken EZ out removed and brought to a head shop and now having more head work done. You have a new car so it should come off with no problems. The intake is a real pain in the ass to take off with out taking the head off with it. I would just do the exhaust manifold porting in the colector area. Doing the intake is really point less unless unless just swaping it out with a magnus or a FRH intake to see any diffrence.

One thing that helps is spraying 3 or 4 times, and running the car between sprays. It'll smoke like crazy as it burns off the heated cast iron surfaces each time, but it'll help to get the metal to expand and accept the penetrant.

I followed the above advice (I believe I read it on the VFAQ) and didn't have a single stud or bolt broken, even on rusted downpipe nuts that had different SAE threads on metric studs.

ugh i figured these would be the answers... sadly for me i've managed to break 3 turbo bolts into my exhaust housing before and had the pleasure of being carless for a week

anyway, i'm going to go spray blaster for the next couple nights and hopefully that'll help

Heat the bolts/area with a torch, and no, I'm not being sarcastic.

I wouldn't do that for the intake mani., just because there's more wiring and such back there, but up front, it's pretty easy.

As long as you can work in there without burning the shit out of yourself, there's no harm in doing that (it'd probably help).
