First off I doubt it is the lifters because it isn't consistant in the morning and I've just replaced them all last year.
Ok here's the scoop..on a COLD start I can take the car out and drive it and the ticking noise will not exhibit itself...when the car becomes warm I can hear a tick-tick noise in the 2000 to 2225 RPM range..THATs it..any higher or lower the noise dissappears.
The ticking noise feels as though its coming from on top of the engine/by the fuel rail.
It only serves to get worse..after driving it longer I seem to get power cut through 1st and 2nd gears MAINLY..but other gears seem to be fine. It feels as though I have a fouled spark plug/wire..but I've always thought they'd exhibit their behavior MORE when the car is COLD rather than WARM?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
