My GS has a giant (I assume custom) intake manifold. The problem is that it is rubbing on the throttle cable housing box (or whatever it's called). Is it possible to move this over an inch or so? And how involved of a process do you think this would be?

Your probably referring to your cruise control box. I don't know if you could relocate that because the throttle cable from that box to the top of the manifold is a certain length. I think if you try to move it you may mess up your idle and cruise position and what not. Have you not considered getting something to put in between the box and the intake?

At this point, I'm not sure exactly which part of it is rattling. From what I can tell, it seems more like the intake is pushing the box back and the rear part of the bottom is rattling against the firewall. I tried padding a few areas with rubber just to see if I could isolate the area that was rattling, but all I did was change the characteristics of the noise. It looks like there are just two bolts holding it on to the firewall right now, maybe adding another one lower on the box would create a much firmer hold?

I'll get a picture hopefully later today. The car is surprisingly covered in 5" of snow right now...

Picture 1 shows the area I'm referencing.

Picture 2 shows the box rubbing on the aluminum intake. I already hacked up the top cover thinking the side of it was rattling on the intake. When the last guy got the huge intake, he couldn't get the bolt back in to hold the cover on all the way.

In picture 3, I circled the two top mount points, as well as the bottom (red). While I was taking pictures, my suspicions were confirmed that the bottom bracket is missing a bolt. Any ideas on how to actually get a bolt down in there are all appreciated. It may also be easier than I am making it out to be.

I could cut off the corner where it's rubbing, but replacing the missing bolt is definitely necessary.

Well, I replaced the two existing bolts and the missing bottom bolt (which took forever), and it seems like the noise is gone. The side is still rubbing on the intake, but at least it's not rattling.
