three diffrent kinds of power sunroofs for 2g?

Went to the junkyard today and was looking for power sunroof parts, and found three diffrent kinds.All were deffinatly factory, but one had two sets of controlls for the roof and other had way diffrent rails..Anyone else notice this?

I had to replace my headliner from Satan and the guy needed the VIN # because there were 3 different headliners for ecilpses with sunroofs.

What the hells the difference? Did different years have different size sunroofs perhaps?

Mabey.All i know is i need new rails bad and now its three times as hard to find the right ones!

Often, when dealers provide vehicles with sunroofs they will offer to put a sunroof on any vehicle, so if you pick out a vehicle without a sunroof, they can just add on on. A lot of times its only 100-200 dollars more so the dealer will put one in, which would differ from the sunroof from the factory. That might be what happened in your case...or Freakin mitsu just changed sunroof designs for the heck of it.

i dunno? i've had a 95 gsx and a 98 gsx.....both had the same controllers for the sunroof and looked the same to me?

yea.I was told there were two diffrent manufacturers that made the 2g power sunroofs. One was for factory installed sunroofs done at the factory, and one was if you wanted your non sunroof eclipse turned to power sunroof ..Dunno if this is true though..The main thing im concerned with is the tracks...I need new ones !
