So, a friend's 03 Eclipse was going to be ... given back to it's real owners. He asked me if I wanted his wheels / tires in exchange for fixing his 02 sensor on his new truck, and I couldn't resist.

So here's some '03 Eclipse 17'' stock wheels and Fuzion HRIs on a '92 Eclipse.

Thanks! It's a slow process, but every little bit helps, yeah?

I think it looks good. A lot better than it did.

Thanks! I do too! It handles a lot better as well.

I was worried about some rubbing, but there's exactly one-finger-width of space between the tire and shock absorber, so I lucked out! : )

I think the 2G GSX wheels would look better. I'm not a big fan of the 3G wheels.

I was a little hesitant at first, thinking, oh no - it's gonna look like some weird monster truck Eclipse thing.

97 GSX 97: I haven't normally been a huge fan of these wheels either, and normally I'd agree with you, and I still might. But I think they look pretty cool - kinda eclectic, and it's definitely a lil tougher looking than before.

Oh, thank you! Sometimes we happen to get blessed with mostly free cool things.

thanks!

I have a hard time jiving with the 3g's too. It's tricky to pinpoint, but I suspect it's the heavily sculpted sides, they remind me kinda of a Grand Am, and for some reason that's ugly to me, I don't know why.

But you're right, they DO look good for some reason! Maybe because it's odd, and something I certainly haven't seen in town. But who knows, some one probably did it before

* back hand to the forehead and collapses *

Yeah they do look better than those swirly lookin' ones

they definitely look good on your car for some reason. I don't like the way it looks on the 3g. Maybe it's because I hate the way 3g's look in general. LOL. good trade!

I think the same. I really dont like the 3Gs. The 4Gs are ok. But no where the 1G or 2G.
:hellyeah:

And that does make the whole car look better! :thumb: Just test the clearance. Go in a highway, hit 70-75, and hit the brake. Not slam, but not a feather tap. I learend the Hard way with my Old Honda. I was going 86 in a 65, dumb, I know, but I hit the brake, and the worst grinding tire rub ever.
After a while, my brother got the wheels, and I gave the car away to my cousin.

WATCH IT. I personally love my swirls :D

To be honest, I don't think it looks that bad! It definitely looks better.

There's nothing wrong with the swirlies. Just wish I had 1gb wheels instead.

Sorry guy's didn't mean to bash 'the swirlies' but there's something about the ones on his car I don't like, I think they might be hubcaps

Ahh yes the hubcaps, Hubcaps should be banned from the public, anyone with hubcaps on their car, or those flower wheels that I see sometimes on Bugs... Should be arrested on the spot. LOL I actually didn't want these wheels I wanted 1gb or 2gb talon wheels. But they were better than the last set of wheels I had... the 1ga Eclipse GSX Turbine wheels, ICK! What the hell were they thinking.

I know a guy that has a black/silver laser with 3g eclipse rs wheels. Looks great. Zuch, your car looks hot now. Enjoy. Lower it to... will add to the looks.

The swirlies are / were wheel covers, or the dreaded hub-cap.

The car had 3 originals when I got it, but those just kinda... fell off in random places. [stupid lame clips!] I was told the first one fell off somewhere in Brooklyn.... So I found some swirlies at the junkyard, which were fine, and better than nothing -- and then the 3g wheels appeared, and poof!

slickers111: I haven't tried that yet, but I definitely will, thanks for the tip! Like I said before, I checked clearance in stationary, but you're right, I probably should check it out when the car is MOVING, which would be much more useful. Moreover, the tire rub would probably more than likely come from where? The inner fender thing, or the who-si-whats-it thing at the bottom of the shock spring strut thing?

InfiniteGSX: Thanks! I dig it too. I also haven't seen something like it before, so I think that makes it extra crazy cool in my mind! :hellyeah: I had an odd idea for a paint job, because it really needs one... but it would either make it look terrible, or awesome, I don't know which.

everyone: Sorry for the long long time before replying, I wasn't avoiding, but we were moving / packing / unpacking / painting / appliance shopping / fighting with AT&T about nonsense....and all that jazz, i.e. things I do and usually have a dumb look on my face while I'm doing it.

ratatack: Since I've already put a crapton of cash in tune-ups, replacing things....

You know, I'm never going to have all the disposable income to throw at it that I wish I could.

For the exterior, which really needs some attention (rust, some dings and dents) I was thinking of repairing those things and then maybe doing something along the lines of Andy Warhol's Art Car: [granted, that is a BMW, but there aren't any real rules for these things, are there?]

[larger pic -- I'd love to have those wheels]

I don't know, it might be some sort of crime, but sounds like a fun project!
